The cool breeze of midnight air gives an ironic warm invitation for another nocturnal walk which my restless spirit couldn't refuse. I love downtown, and to explore it even at the most unholy hour gives me something more than a personal satisfaction, it is the passion to know more about the city that never sleeps.
The midnight of downtown Manila is a visual array of dimly-lit side streets, of beggars trying to survive urban living by sifting garbage, of night-shift workers on the way to their midnight work, of women and teenage girls who sell sex for 500 pesos, of shadows of the weary souls that cannot find the blessing of slumber, or to those who find it, must necessarily do so under a roofless sky and a bed of cardboard box.

The images below may not all be lovely, and they certainly do not represent the whole of Manila Downtown, but they provide the viewer a fascinating kaleidoscope of what life is like on the little world of midnight street living.
