Posterior Shoulder Dislocation-3D CT

Posterior Shoulder Dislocation- posterior dislocation is rare & should raise possibility of seizure as cause; other causes include an electric shock or ECT without muscle relaxants. Radiographs may reveal Reverse Hill Sach Lesion - compression fracture of the anteromedial portion of the humeral head is produced by the posterior cortical rim of the glenoid as in this case of 28 year old male, with posterior dislocation seen on 3D CT images.

This is an interesting image wherein the bullet entered from one side shattered the greater trochanter and lodged in the contralateral gluteal region, reported via teleradiology via our company.

Round Atelectasis

This is a case of treated tubercular pleural effusion with rounded opacity showing characterstic apearance of round atelectasis. The characteristic feature of round atelectasis is the comet tail sign. As the lung collapses, the vessels and bronchi that lead to the mass are pulled into the region. As they reach the mass, they diverge and arch around the undersurface to merge with the inferior pole of the mass.

Central Neurocytoma-CT Imaging

Imaging of central neurocytoma is usually characteristic. Most of them occur as an exophytic, well circumscribed, globular mass that protrudes into the ventricles. Calcifications are common. This is a postoperative post shunting case of neurocytomas, note the intraventricular nature of tumour, calcification and operative pneumocephalus. Tumour showed immunoactivity for synaptophysin. Radiological differential diagnoses include oligodendroglioma, ependymoma, subependymal giant cell astrocytoma, and intraventricular meningioma.

Pancreatic Hypoplasia-CT

Pancreatic Agenesis and HypoplasiaTotal agenesis of the pancreas is extremely rare and is incompatible with life. It is associated with other malformations such as gallbladder aplasia, polysplenia, and fetal growth retardation. Hypoplasia (partial agenesis) results from the absence of the ventral or dorsal anlage. Absence of the dorsal anlage is visualized as a short or truncated pancreas and can be partial or complete. It may be seen as a solitary finding or in association with heterotaxia syndromes. Partial agenesis of the dorsal pancreas is relatively more common than agenesis of the ventral portion, but complete agenesis of the dorsal pancreas is extremely rare. This patient had partial agenesis or hypoplasia of dorsal pancreas and presented with symptoms of diabetes mellitus.

Submandibular Space Lipoma

Lipomas in the submandibular region are relatively rare. We describe a case of a lipoma in the submandibular region. The CT value of the tumor was -103HU suggesting lipomatous lesions. The tumor was extra-orally resected. The histopathological diagnosis was lipoma.
