Good Friday in Boac

The Morions have all come here in full force with only one thing in their minds, to torture and crucify Jesus Christ. Under the sweltering heat of the midday sun, spectators coming from many parts of the country have gathered to witness the ghastly event here in the town of Boac, Marinduque, Philippines.

Jesus Christ (according to the townsfolk, this actor who
played Christ was named Edgar Domingo)

This is not just plain acting, the Moriones are really whipping hard on Jesus.
I can actually hear the leather whips as it slashed Jesus' skinSome spectators
in the crowd were actually shouting to go on easy hitting Christ.
