In this new video, he takes video and sounds from 'Toy Story' and adds a few extra cymbals and a sine wave bass (I'm not sure what a sine wave bass is, but is sounds cool) to make another amazing remix. Just in time, as Disney Pixar's 'Toy Story 3' opens in theaters this weekend!

Jamie Foxx Writing Laverne And Shirley Movie?

Remember all the hoopla about the recent 'Valentine's Day' movie directed by Garry Marshall? You remember.... The movie starring almost every actor and actress in Hollywood?

During the press tour for the 'Valentine's Day' movie, new BFF's Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel mentioned that they would love to do a remake of the popular television show (also directed by Garry Marshall) 'Laverne and Shirley'....

Well, it may be happening!!!! And it's going to be written by their 'Valentine's Day' co-star Jamie Foxx!?!?!?! Yes..... Jamie Foxx. I am both intrigued and frightened.... I really hope Garry Marshall's not just pulling our leg....

Garry Marshall told TV Guide:

“Jamie and I are trying to do it. He’s writing it. It’s a whole different modern day take on how they came up on the streets during difficult times. Laverne would be this very tough girl with a big ‘L’ tattooed on her arm. Jennifer Garner would play Laverne and Jessica Biel would play Shirley.”

Mel Gibson On The 'Edge Of Darkness'

Let me start this post off by saying that I don't have a dog in this fight.... Mel Gibson's new movie 'Edge of Darkness' came out in theaters a couple of weeks ago. This is Mel Gibson's first movie since 2002, and his first movie since his drunk driving arrest and his anti-Semitic tirade towards the police officers in 2006.



Mel Gibson went on the apology tour after the arrest, attended the court appointed classes and has stayed out of the limelight since the drunk driving arrest (if you don't count the divorce from his wife of more than 30 years). You don't have to like Mel Gibson, and you don't have to accept his apology.... But he seems to have made a sincere attempt at giving his penance....



Anyway, Sam Rubin, who is Jewish and is one of those schmarmy entertainment reporters, sat down to interview Mel Gibson about his new movie. During the interview, Sam Rubin asked Mel Gibson, 'Some people are going to welcome you back, and some people think you should never come back.' Mel Gibson puts on his crazy eyes and says that the comments were attributed to him (even though he admitted to saying those things in an interview with Diane Sawyer) and asks Sam if he has a 'dog in this fight'. At that point Sam Rubin goes into a hole and sort of backs off....



After the interview, Sam goes back to the studio and gives his two cents, and says that he didn't understand what Mel Gibson meant when he said 'Do you have a dog in this fight?', and that he was mad that he didn't speak up for himself.... Then his news mates tried to pat him on the back (poorly I might add), and told Sam that 'what he didn't say, said more'....



Both parties handled the interview poorly.... On one hand, Mel should have just said 'Look, I said it, I apologized, there's nothing more that I can do', and on the other hand I think if Sam is going to call Mel Gibson on a super touchy subject then he shouldn't have crawled into a hole during the interview and gone on to bash Mel Gibson on his newscast without Mel there to defend himself....

So, here's my question, do you think Mel Gibson has made amends? Or do you think his requests for forgiveness are inadequate. Will, or have, you seen 'Edge of Darkness'? Or has Mel Gibson tainted your view of him? What's your opinion? Do you think that alcohol made Mel Gibson spout out his inner truths, or maybe the alcohol made him talk crazy? Do you think there can be a separation between a person's personal life and his art? What more could Mel do to win you back as a fan?

For A Limited Time Only

Another day, another drive to Fillmore, California and back.... I placed radon measurement canisters at an apartment complex on Monday, and today I have to go pick up the canisters and send them to the lab.... Two hours of driving there, and two hours back.... Did you know that, behind smoking, inhalation of radon gas is the second leading cause of lung cancer?

Anyway, back in February, I posted a blog about the Disney movie 'The Little Match Girl', based on the short story with the same name written by Hans Christian Anderson. It's a beautifully magical and tragic tale that I would recommend everybody watch.... And.... It's the perfect segue into today's topic.....

Animator Rodrigo Blaas, has taken some time off from his gig at Pixar to do some independent work. His first film, 'Alma', is fantastically beautiful and unbelievably creepy all at the same time.... While you're watching this, don't forget that it's created by one of the guys who helped animate 'Up' and 'Finding Nemo' (Have you seen the first fifteen minutes of 'Up' yet? I'm glad I was wearing the 3D glasses).... 'Alma' has won many awards, and Mr. Blaas has made it available to the public for a short time during the Christmas season.... Enjoy it, before it's taken away from us....

Date Night

Have you heard of this 'Date Night' movie? It looks fantastic! It stars Steve Carell and Tina Fey as two parents who opt to go out for a fancy date night, but end up being chased around town by two murderous gangsters because of a case of mistaken identity. Hilarity does ensue.....

There are a lot of other big names in this movie, including Mila Kunis, James Franco, Mark Wahlberg, Olivia Munn, Kristin Wiig and many more! I hope they didn't put all of the really funny moments in the trailer.... Speaking of which, look what I have for you....

Oh crap! John Hughes died of a heart attack today at the age of 59.

What an amazing mind.... Almost everything this man put down on paper was gold. The man wrote "Planes, Trains and Automobiles", the National Lampoon "Vacation" and "Christmas Vacation" movies, "Pretty in Pink", "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", "The Breakfast Club", "Mr. Mom", "Uncle Buck", "Sixteen Candles", "The Great Outdoors", "Weird Science", all the "Home Alone" movies, all the "Beethoven" movies. Not only did he write these movies, but he produced and directed most of them.....

Genius.... Pure genius....

The man wrote, produced and directed the movie "Curly Sue" for god's sake! He's probably the only person in the world who's been able to make Jim Belushi somewhat funny or charming.

By the way, a little tid bit of information... Can you name the highest grossing American comedy movie of all time?

Home Alone..... So Macaulay Caulkin is the star of the highest grossing American comedy movie of all time, and he's dating Mila Kunis? Makes sense, right?

Alice In Wonderland Trailer

Here's the first trailer for Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland movie. Don't get me wrong, I like Johnny Depp, but they appear to be marketing the movie as if he's the only actor in the movie.... By the way, did you know that Christian Bale stars in Public Enemies alongside Johnny Depp?

Striped Pajamas

I don't want to tell you not to watch this movie, but I watched "The Boy In The Striped Pajamas" last night, and it made me feel miserable. Great acting and great story.

"The Boy In The Striped Pajamas".... It should have been a happy-go-lucky movie about a boy who loves his pajamas, right? Not so much.... I've seen a lot of movies, and never has a movie left me feeling this way. I feel like I have a rock in the pit of my stomach.... I don't think I'm going to get this movie out of my head for a long time.

Again, I'm not telling you to not watch this movie. It didn't make me cry.... It did give me nightmares, and I still feel uncomfortable.... It wasn't scary, it was gripping and powerful. Oh yeah, and gutwrenching.... Go watch this movie, let me know what you thought....

Julie and Julia

I can hear it now.... Yeah, he's so gay.... Ha ha ha.... But I am so excited about this movie! Julia Child was a delight to watch on television.... She was personable and relatable and real....

Julia Child was Paula Deen before Paula Deen was Paula Deen! Except for the fact that she cooked French food....

So if you remember watching Julia Child on television, this trailer should get you really excited to see the film. Amy Adams is so charming, and Meryl Streep channels Julia Child! She definitely redeems herself for 'Mamma Mia' with this role.... Ok, well maybe she redeemed herself by getting nominated for a Best Actress Academy Award for her role in 'Doubt', but I didn't see it, so 'Doubt Schmout'. Do yourself a favor and watch the trailer....

By the way, Julie and Julia started as a blog, then became a book, and then became a movie.... So look for 'As Black As Obama' or 'I Think It's Interesting' on bookshelves soon! Maybe I should start writing something with a theme.... Ooooh! Maybe something about fatherhood.... Or maybe I should just keep writing and posting silly videos about crap I think is interesting....

The Los Angeles Lakers championship parade is today. So you know what that means.... More of the puppet commercials.

Here's the thing.... I appreciate Kobe and LeBron, their talents and their athleticism. I'm not typically in awe of someone's physical abilities, but a couple of years ago I was listening to a Kobe Bryant interview, and a reporter asked Kobe about a play in the game where he jumped into the air with the ball in one hand, did a 180 degree turn, put the ball in his other hand, and then slam dunked the basketball. Kobe replied with, 'Well, I saw the defender, and I made the decision to switch hands and dunk the ball on the other side so there was no chance it could be blocked.' Of course I paraphrased that, but I just jumped in my office and I was barely able to think about landing on two feet. So, I'm just saying, don't go with him if he tells you that he wants to show you his trophy in his hotel room, but at least get him to sign a coffee cup.

Cops and Robbers

Check out director Adam Berg's short film titled 'Carousel'. This video was used as a commercial for a new Phillips flat-screen Cinema 21:9 television.



The cameras fly through a frozen world where bullets are flying, and cops and robbers are in an endless tug of war. The video runs full circle, back to where the video began, but with a very interesting twist. It's like watching a full Hollywood-style cops-and-robbers movie in 2 minutes and 19 seconds.

I've watched it three times now, and each time I see it I see something new! And by the way, the clown masks could not be any creepier.
