Kia's New Hamster Commercial Is Awesome!

I'm not a huge fan of Kia, and I never thought I would want to buy a Kia vehicle in the near or distant future.... But I am in love with Kia's new hamster commercial, and I think I may be buying a new Kia Soul today.... I'm easily persuaded....

The Blueprint

I don't have a wide breadth of knowledge about hip hop, let alone music in general, but Jay-Z is amazing. He's releasing a new album, The Blueprint 3, on September 11, 2009. To promote his new album and Rhapsody Music, Jay-Z made a commercial in which he flawlessly recreates the poses from his previous ten album covers. It's very creative.

I hope I'm not damaging my cred with my west coast crew by giving mad props to an east coast rapper.

If you want to see the previous album covers, click the link and scroll to the bottom of the page to see Jay Z's discography.

Eat That Watermelon!

Apparently I've been out of the rap game for too long....

Are we really worried that corporate (the white man) is causing hip hoppers to sell out and promote their culture's negative stereotypes?

Unfortunately, the ditty NAS and Nick Cannon created to combat the racist tyranny of the corporate monster is really catchy.... And really makes me want to eat watermelon.... They're right, it is good!

MVPuppets 6

I was going to wait until Monday to post this, but nothing is sacred anymore.... Ha ha ha! Anyway, here's what I hope will be the last of Nike's Kobe and LeBron commercials.

Fresh Prince of DC

I saw this posted by an anonymous poster on a message board the other day and had to share it....

If Barack Obama wants Will Smith to portray him on the big screen, this should be the theme song for the movie....

Sing it to the tune of the theme to "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air"....

Now this is a story all about how
I ascended to the seat of power.
If you'll listen for a minute
Hear what I say
I'll tell you how I became President of the U. S. of A.

In West Honolulu, born and raised
in Jakarta, is where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out in Chi-Town, relaxin' all cool
Organizing communities like I was a fool
When a couple of guys
With a disdain for peace
Started making trouble in the Middle East
They started two little wars and we all got scared
The people said "We need a president who isn't mentally impaired!"

I ran a perfect race, turned red states blue
Swept electoral votes, added Rham to my crew
With a mandate for change and Constitution in hand
I'll dance on the Colonnade singing "Yes We Can!"

I got to the White House about seven or eight
And I yelled to the Bushes, "Yo Holmes, smell ya later!"
Looked at my office
There were no corners there
Sitting at the Resolute Desk, signing universal health care....

Why Don't We Call Them Stewardesses Anymore?

I flew back home from Seattle Washington last night. The flight attendant started the announcements by asking if anyone had lost a wallet, and she said she was holding it at the front of the plane. As everyone looked up to see what the wallet looked like, the flight attendant said, "Now that I've got your attention, here are the safety announcements". What a tricky lady.

I hope to get this guy on my next flight! He's fun and he can find words that rhyme with flotation device. All I could come up with is 'schmotation reschmice"

Interesting Information

He's previously worked as a coffin polisher and a milkman. In 1953, he finished third in his division in the Mr. Universe pageant. He turned down the role of Gandalf in "The Lord of The Rings" trilogy because he couldn't understand the novels and didn't want to film in New Zealand for 18 months. Here's the biggest hint: He once to Barbara Walters in an interview that it was "ok to hit a woman if they deserved it or needed it to keep them in line". He became one of the most famous actors in the world.....Who is the man in the white speedo? Answer after this.

I was looking at news stories this morning, and being the father of a one-year old, I naturally gravitated toward the story about Elmo. The headline read: "Elmo is a Brother!" I was thinking that a new character is going to be joining Sesame Street, Elmo is going to get a baby brother. Nope.... Elmo is voiced by a black guy. Now read the headline again...."Elmo is a Brother!" Oh!!!!!!! A brother!

Speaking of brothers. If you didn't see Kevin Federline's performance on Sunday. Here are some lyrics from his mad rhymes.

"Let me take you back to five o'clock, when I roll my Lamborghini down the block.

But not before I make them chop the top, and throw some 22's. Oh, that's hot.

As I roll to a restaurant for a bite to eat, no tuxedo 'cause they recognize me.

A lifestyle of rich living and fast cars, don't hate me 'cause I'm a superstar."

Ok, I know you are all biting your nails and dying to know the identity of that muscled man pictured above. The gentleman is Sir Sean Connery. Seven-time James Bond and Indiana Jones' Father.
